Comedy Review

Adam Bloom
Pleasance Two

Adam is definitely one of the UK's top stand ups, he makes it look so effortless although I'm sure like all greats he has as much anguish, self doubt and Lucozade as anyone. From his opening Harpo Marx impression to the final encore, this was a golden comedy evening. Anecdote after gag after anecdote, Adam provided a master-class of delivery and timing. Adam's biggest critic is himself and he frequently follows a gag with analysis of why it doesn't work, even when it just did.
Adam interacts easily with the audience as after a couple of minutes into his act it's like being out with your loudest friend, you know the one who is constantly talking and insists on telling you what they are thinking about, the difference here is it's worth listening to. His boundless enthusiasm and hyperactive presentation means that the person most excited by his material is frequently him, occasionally rushing the end of a joke because he wants to tell us the great punchline as soon as possible.

Fruit of the Bloom.
