Top Kiwi music sensation, The Fingerwigs play their first UK concerts this week and fans from Bickley to Bickley West queued for hours at Upton Dupton's Imperial Mint Club but unfortunately they were to be disappointed as the actual venue is still a closely guarded secret. Their manager, Brian Latitude apologised to fans and said contractual difficulties with the tour sponsor had led to 'confusion and unpleasantness'. The marketing director of Dappledown Camague, Mexico's biggest pillow manufacturer, whose slogan is "If its a big pillow it must be Mexican" refused to comment.
Already New Zealand's second most popular music export, The Fingerwigs have already had 2 top 40 hits in NZ and hope to eclipse this success with their latest offering 'spamhead called me stupid' from their critically acclaimed debut album, 'fictitious'.
Former lead singer Corval Druid thanked the UK fans for their eager support but added they were "stupid, mis-guided freaks who wouldn't know a decent tune if it married their sister". The new Fingerwigs lead singer is expected to be announced next week and industry insiders expect it to be former 'Canvas Bra Militia' front man Bob Palindrome, already banned from several Wellington clubs and venues after un-explained smells and hurtful remarks. Mr Palindrome claims that he is "misunderstood" and added "crumple tramp trampoline fish net maps and turnstiles in Tenby".
