DJ Danny - Music Therapy
Pleasance Courtyard

Teacher by day, DJ by night, DJ Danny's back with a new show that promises to save the world through the power of music. Had a bad day? Got a few problems? Fill out Danny's questionnaire and you could be healed through the power of song. But before we can heal, we must diagnose. This is a quirky little show which is not so much inspired stand-up as purely a jolly good time. The jokes are there in abundance but the best thing about this show is the pure enthusiasm of Danny (and Mr Walker) and their fanaticism is infectious for the audience. We were singing, dancing, playing instruments and without being too self conscious because Danny gets everyone involved without being invasive.

I'm sure the time of this show helped, as by 11pm we had all had a few beers and this broke down barriers and inhibitions. Whether that was a deliberate ploy or just coincidental serendipity I don't know but either way it makes this show work. As well as a few set pieces Danny manages to improvise songs to heal the hurting of the audience, specifically targeted based on the questionnaires we filled in whilst waiting. This is an up-lifting joy of a show which left everyone with a stupid grin on their face and a healing song in their heart.

Looney Tunes.
